We are a decile 8 school of over 450 students. Within our student body there are over 20 different cultures represented with 24 different languages spoken by students at home. This diversity is something we are proud to embrace and celebrate. Find out more About SWIS.

All students in Year 7 and 8 are free to attend SWIS. There is no zone currently in place meaning you don’t need to live in a certain area to be enrolled.

There are costs for some activities as part of Sport, Enrichment, EOTC week. We do ensure there are a range of free activities offered as well to ensure that students can have meaningful learning activities that don’t cost as well.

Day to Day School Life

You can find all of the teachers emails on the Teachers page.

Unless the student provides a note or is leaving the school grounds with a staff member, no student is allowed to leave the school grounds once they have arrived at school until the school day ends at 3 p.m.

Semi spec is how we describe our timetable. It refers to the fact that all teachers teach Homerooms (literacy and mathematics) but also specialise in another subject area.

We are active members in the Wellington Regional Intermediate Schools Sports Association and through this participate in a range of sporting events annually.
