This could become a yearly event! Well done girls and Christine 😁

Wonderful to have a team from the Newtown Fire Dept come to talk with the students about their careers and to answer all kinds of questions. Special thanks to Joe from In the Flo for arranging all of this as part of his enrichment programme, especially the motivational talk from Firefighter Stu Filo. Very inspiring for the students. ... We have been contacted by Variety: the children's charity to let us know that they are open to people applying for support or sponsorship. Please have a read and see if this applies to you or someone you know.

The end of Term 4 is approaching quickly and while that means long summer holidays are around the corner, at Variety we’re already thinking about what kids need to start Term 1 ready to learn.
We continue to have generous Kiwis sign up to sponsor children, and we know there are lots of kids in need of help with the basics like school uniforms, stationery and extra-curricular activities.
So NOW is a great time for families/whānau to sign up to Kiwi Kid Sponsorship to ensure kids and young people have everything they need over the holidays and for Term 1 - 2021. Getting organised now means Variety has enough time to process a child’s application and find them a sponsor so they can access their funding in time for the new school year.
Applications are all online and easy to complete.
If you know of any children who could benefit from sponsorship, or siblings of those already on the programme aged 4-17, please encourage them, and assist where possible to submit an application online or by using the Sibling Request Form.
All children who are NZ citizens or residents aged 4-17 are eligible for KKS and there is no limit on the number of kids sponsored in a family.
Check out our FAQs, email us at kiwikids@variety.org.nz or call us at 09 520 4111 to discuss.
Thank you for your on-going support of the Kiwi Kid Sponsorship programme. Without you, our team would not be able to support more than 5,500 children and young people across New Zealand every day.
Ngā mihi nui,
The Kiwi Kid Sponsorship Team
