Newsletter Nov 8 | Term 4, Week 4

This issue covers:

  • Badminton
  • Principal’s Awards
  • ICAS / FPS Presentations
  • EOTC Week Information
  • Announcement of the winner’s of the uniform vouchers.

Then to cap it all of we held our frst Celebraton Assembly where we handed out 32 Principal’s Awards to students whose positve attudes , hard work and cheerful dispositons make them an asset to SWIS and the community we belong to. This attude of celebratng the big and litle things is something Rauru and I are commited to building at SWIS this term. As a school we are always striving to make improvements whether it’s to the buildings, the grounds, teaching and learning or other aspects of school life, but the one thing we have always been immensely proud of is the students who make up our school. Last week it flled us with pride to hand out those Principal’s Awards many in front of their whanau, in week 9 we will repeat this with another Celebraton Assembly, but it’s important we recognise the great contributons the students and staf of SWIS make every single day.

There were crepes, onion soup, mousse and macaroons to name just some of the food the class had prepared to share with their mates! ... See MoreSee Less

Our Pacific Island students have made a wonderful start for Polyfest next term. They have been learning actions to put together in a slap dance and for a siva. Once we have our items finalised, we will be able to offer practices for any SWIS students interested in joining Polyclub. If you have a song or dance from the Islands that you would be prepared to teach our students, please contact Aloma. ... See MoreSee Less

Wonderful to see our school so busy in the evenings. There is still room in the netball and badminton teams if you get in touch with Aloma as soon as possible this week. ... See MoreSee Less
