Howard Young

Kia ora tatou, I work as one of the Deputy Principals. I am loving the opportunity to learn alongside the Year 7 & 8 students, as all my previous roles have involved teaching students between Year 1 & 6. A Wellington local most of my life, I have also had the opportunity to teach many age groups in the Philippines, Korea and the UK, and for a long time I was involved in a volunteer capacity working with exchange students from around the world. This has led to me developing a passion for intercultural education and what better place to continue this journey than SWIS. Away from school I love to play and watch sport, being a committed fan of Wellington’s sports teams especially the Hurricanes and Lions. I also enjoy cooking, checking out art galleries and spending time with my family.
