Become an International Student Homestay Family
Open your home and enjoy a unique cultural experience for the whole family. Hosting is a fun and rewarding way to share Kiwi life, learn about another culture, and make connections from around the world.
đź’° Host families receive $400 per week
📅 Student stays are usually 2–6 weeks
We’re looking for caring, welcoming families to host and support a student during their stay. It’s a short-term commitment with a lasting impact.
As a homestay family, you will need to provide:
- three meals each day
- a private bedroom (with a heater)
- access to a bathroom and laundry facilities.
International students enrol throughout the year. Families who register to become a homestay will first complete the vetting process, including police and home checks, and then be added to our homestay list. When a student applies, we will contact suitable families with the hosting dates, and families can choose to accept or decline. Registering as a homestay family does not commit you to hosting.
