Staff have been undergoing professional development with Poutama Pounamu, an Education Research and Development Centre at The University of Waikato. We have been looking at the tool Rongohia te Hau to inform and develop culturally responsive teaching and leadership across our curriculum and our school.
The next stage of our journey is administering surveys to the kaiako (teachers), ākonga (students) and whānau (families) to get a better sense of what all three groups are saying about teaching and learning at SWIS. The surveys will provide invaluable evidence for culturally responsive teaching, learning and planning.
When you have a moment, please click here and complete the survey. There are no right or wrong answers so choose the answer that is best for you and your answers are anonymous. The survey link will close on Tuesday 9 August.
Please get in touch if you have any questions or queries. Ngå mihi Niamh Kelly (she/her) Room 2 homeroom teacher, netball coordinator and Kāhui Ako WSL South Wellington Intermediate School Our Mission: Challenge – Engage – Inquire – Inspire Email / Īmera: niamh.kelly@swis.school.nz
